“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 1:2 ( KJV)
It’s our privilege as children of God to walk in the blessings of prosperity. Praying God’s promises bring these blessings into our lives. When we pray God’s promises and remind Him what He promised us, He’s determined to meet our every need – financial, spiritual, physical, etc. Trust not in your own strength throughout all your trials and troubles. Do not let unbelief and lack of hope paralyse your spirit, forgetting that Jesus is the answer. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us.
In Joshua 1, Joshua was reminded to be strong and of good courage, not to be dismayed, and that God will be with Him wherever he goes. This promise also applies to us. God will bless us abundantly once we adhere to His precepts. He will meet our needs. The account of Job also shows us when we are faithful to God, despite our situation, He doubles our blessings – Job 42:10 (KJV).
Sometimes when we experience prosperity/blessings we begin to forget the Lord. The Psalmist said, “In my prosperity I said I shall never be moved – “Psalm 30: 6 (KJV). Then he prayed as if to give himself a reminder, “Lord, by Thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong:… – Psalm 30:7 (KJV). Let your hope come alive. Never forget the Blesser and give superiority to the blessing. Continue to hope in God; it’s a powerful force that can arouse your mind to explore every possibility and overcome every obstacle that will hinder your blessings, by the grace of God.
Prayer
Our Father Who art in Heaven, I thank Thee that You are the father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. I recognise You to be the giver of every good and perfect gift. I receive your abundance of blessings, as I claim Your promises for my family, friends, and myself.
Knowing You Lord fills my heart with gratitude, I am so thankful for the certainty that You, my loving father, want me to prosper and enjoy good health at all times. Thank you for blessing me abundantly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
